  • Chancel Choir

The all-volunteer Chancel Choir provides worship leadership through music for the 11:00 AM Sunday traditional worship service. In addition, this choir prepares a special musical presentation for the Christmas season, and participates in various other special worship services throughout the year. Our Chancel Choir has a very active prayer ministry. This "Small Group" enjoys several fellowship activities throughout the year. The Chancel Choir is led by Ms. Terre Ware, our Director of Music Ministries. Our accompanist is Ms. Shirley Poynter, our Church Organist. Rehersal is Wednesday evenings at 6:30p.m.

  • Praise Band

Crossroads Praise Band provides "praise" music leadership for Crossroads; our Sunday morning Praise Service which takes place in the Contemporary Worship Center at 9:00 AM. The music format is informal, with overhead projectors providing the words for all the songs. The band is comprised of volunteer musicians and vocalists, and the composition of the band is flexible. The Praise Service itself is informal, but retains some of the traditional worship service elements (Lord's Prayer, etc.). The Praise Band practices on Monday evenings from 6:30 to 8:00. All with a desire to make music for Christ are welcome to participate! For more information contact Tony Taylor - Band Leader

  • Handbells

The handbell ministry provides a way to express musically and spiritually our faith in God, as we literally lift our instrument to Him. There are currently 2 handbell choirs both under the direction of Shirly Poynter. The handbell choirs play throughout the year in the 11:00 traditional worship service. Their melodic sound is a beautiful way to begin worship. Serendipity Ringers The Serendipity Ringers is a mixed-generational/gender handbell choir. Rehersal is Monday afternoons at 6:00 p.m. Joyful Noise Ringers The Joyful Noise handbell choir is a mixed-generational handbell choir whose members tend to be younger than the Serendipity Ringers. Rehersal is Mondays at 5:15 p.m.

  • Children's Choirs

We know how important it is to guide and steer our children because we know that they are indeed tomorrow's church. Children's Music here at First United Methodist Church is a big part of that as we work to instill a sound musical and spiritual foundation. One cannot help but be filled with joy each time they hear the sweet angel voices of our Children's Choirs. We are pleased to offer choir to children aged Pre-K through 5th grade. Children's choir rehearsals are part of our Wednesday afternoon children's activities. The children typically perform a Christmas and Spring concert and sing in worship on a monthly basis at each of the three services. When your child's choir sings in a worship service, we ask that they arrive a half-hour prior to that service time to warm-up. For more information contact Samantha Bentley.
