    Keith began his journey in ministry at 19 years old. He graduated Dewitt High School in 1990, Henderson State University in 1998, and Memphis Theological seminary in 2002. His only hobby is photography, and he is wonderfully skilled at it. He believes in compassion, hope, love, integrity and a positive attitude. Keith is also passionate about his family. He met his wife, Lori, in college and they’ve been were married in 1996. Lori is a Radiological Tech. They have 2 children - daughter, daughter, Rebekah and son, Joshua.

    Kathy was born in the mountains of New Hampshire and moved to Florida as a young teenage girl. After graduating from her first Bible School in 1990, she has been part of various volunteer and ministerial positions for the past 25 years.  Married to Jeff Davis, they have five children and so far, six grandchildren, with another grandchild due next month. In 2011, Kathy obtained an AA degree in Theology.  She worked for the Navarre UMC for the past 7 years before she and her husband moved to Arkansas. She received certifications through a national organization called PAUMCS. In 2014, she became a Certified UMC Secretary and in 2016 she became a Certified UMC Administrator.  Kathy enjoys the outdoors and the four seasons, which is why she and her husband moved to beautiful Norfork, Arkansas. Kathy loves her family, especially her grandchildren, and the Arts. Most of all, her passion is painting.

    Laura was born in Ontario Canada and grew up there in the small town of Sharbot Lake untill moving to Illinois with her parents as a teenager. She lived there until moving to Arkansas in 2004. Laura has been part of the staff at First United Methodist Church since 2006. She began as the Director of the Christian Prescchool and moved into her current position in 2011. Although her educational background in is Early Childhood Education, Laura has a love of and a gift for Creative Design. She lives in Mountain Home with her daughter, Skyler & her son, Hunter.

  • Kellye Cannon Director of Children's Ministries

    Kellye Cannon was born in Ozark, AR and lived there until she went to college at Arkansas Tech University. She majored in Elementary Education and moved to Mtn. Home in 1980 after graduation. She began teaching at the Mtn. Home Kindergarten in the fall of 1980 and retired from the same school in May of 2013. After her youngest child graduated from High School in 2007, she felt God calling her to go into ministry in an official capacity. She did so willingly, with the help of her friend and partner in ministry Mrs. Terre. She worked full time at the Kindergarten and part time here at FUMC until her retirement from the kindergarten in 2013. She is enjoying having more time to devote to her ministry at church and still be able to get her “kid fix”!! She is married to Mike Cannon who donates much of his time to the video production at the church. They have 2 grown children, Hollye, and Cameron ( wife Lauren) and one grandchild, Cannon.

  • Michelle Anderson  Director of Student Ministries

    Michelle received her Bachelor of Arts in English at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville. She has also taken Courses and work shops in Youth Ministry at Perkins School of Youth Ministry. Michelle has been involved in the Methodist community in several ways. She has been part of the Arkansas Conference Council on Youth Ministries since 2017. She is also a member of the Methodist Family Health Spiritual Formation Committee. She has been part of the Ozark Mission Project Planning Team and The Young Christian Singers Choir Tour Planning Team. Michelle is also musically talented. She sings, plays the guitar and leads worship.

  • Jeremy Hopper Contemporary Worship Leader

    Jeremy has always had a deep love of worship and leading others in worship. Having led worship bands in his youth, he went on to receive his Bachelor of Arts in Music from the University of Central Arkansas. Upon graduating from UCA, Jeremy surrendered to the call of ministry and went on to earn his Masters of Divinity Theology Cognate from Liberty University in 2019. Jeremy is currently seeking his Masters of Arts in Teaching from the University of Central Arkansas and will graduate in the fall of 2021. Jeremy is also employed by the Mountain Home Public School District as the Director of Choral Activities for Mountain Home Junior High. Jeremy works alongside his wife, Laken, serving the school district through music education. Jeremy and Laken have two children, Hensley and Elijah.

  • Terre Ware Choir Director

    Terre is a native Arkansan. She moved to Mountain Home 30 years ago after serving in a United Methodist Church in West Memphis, Arkansas. She holds both a Masters degree in piano performance and a BME from the University of Louisiana Monroe. She has worked at FUMC in some capacity for all these years. She currently is the Music Director of the Chancel choir.  She has a  son and daughter in law as well as a granddaughter who live in Little Rock. She continues to enjoy the creative side of bringing music to life from the written page.

  • Samantha Bentley Children's Music Director

    Samantha Bentley the is one of the two music teachers at Hackler Intermediate School. She graduated from the University of Central Arkansas in 2013 with a Bachelors in Music Education. Along with general music classes, She has a 5th grade afterschool choir, called Symphonix. She is in the process of receiving her Masters of Music education, her Orff certification, and her World Music Drumming certification. 

  • Shirley Poynter Handbells Director & Organist

    Shirley has been a member of this church since 1946. She started playing the organ here in 1952. While her husband Luke was in the Navy, they lived in other places for 13 years before moving back to Mountain Home. She now directs 2 adult handbell choirs, plays organ & piano for church services and other events, is a member of the Prayer Shawl Ministry, volunteers at the Christian Clinic, decorates cakes, and walks every day. Shirley and Luke have two children, one which lives in the area with their grandaughter Haley.

    Dave was born in Indiana and grew up in Florida. In 2006, He moved to Mountain Home and has been with the FUMC since that time. His education includes Seminole Community College and Lake County College in Florida, CEC Technical College in Topeka, Kansas, and ITT Technical Institute, Dave and his wife Rebekah have two children, son Nicolas and wife Lindsay who reside in Oklahoma City, and daughter Amanda who will be moving moving to Arlington, Washington. Dave’s personal mission statement is to glorify God in all that he does and to bring praise and honor to Him as well as to lead others into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

  • Marilyn Kobialka Custodian

    Marilyn was born and raised in southwest Louisiana by parents who owned a small roadside cafe. She cooked her first meal for a customer at 9 years of age. Marilyn and her husband, Fred have two children, Sarah K. Jones and Edward Kobialka. They moved to the Mountain Home area in 1978. Marilyn attended Ozarks Technical College Culinary Arts Program in Melbourne AR. She has been cooking in the First United Methodist Church "Happy Kitchen" since 2006 cooking for the Wednesday Evening Fellowship Meals and catering special events.
